This bill would propose an amendment to the Constitution to provide senators four-year terms of office and leave representatives with two-year terms. The first election under this plan would take place with the November, 2016 election. It would also limit senators to the greater of 3 full terms of office, or 14 years in the Senate. Any term or part prior to the second Monday in January, 2017 would not count toward the limit.
